Helping a Single Army Veteran Who Lives Alone.

Helping a Single Army Veteran Who Lives Alone.

The client attended our Thursday Veterans Drop-In. The client is a single army veteran who lives alone.

He was self-employed until recently when he became very unwell with multiple health issues. When we met the client, he was undergoing extensive hospital tests.

The client had no income and was being supported by family and friends.

Bolton Guild of Help:

• Awarded the client a £100 Gas Top-Up and £100 Electric Top-Up.

• Assisted the client to claim Universal Credit (UC) and Council Tax Support (CTS).

• Told the client he is eligible for a single person Council Tax discount as he was not aware and helped him to apply.

• Referred the client for help with his debts.

• Obtained verification of the client’s army service, so that he could be referred to SAFFA for further assistance.
