Thanks to external fundraising our School’s Project has been successfully running since 2023.
Raksha our School’s Project coordinator works with Schools within the Bolton Borough helping to support families who are struggling financially, working closely with the pastoral teams.
Raksha takes ‘The Guild’ into the school setting and runs drop ins to help parents that have been identified as needing support by the pastoral teams.
We have helped many families with a variety of items such as new beds and mattresses, carpets, school uniforms, food vouchers and fuel top ups.
It has been so rewarding to hear reports back from the Schools that children who are now warm and well rested as a result of our help are engaging so much more with their education.
We see families from a variety of backgrounds from those who are being re-homed, single parent families, families struggling with mental health and low income and unemployment.
Many people are struggling with cost of living and the Bolton Guild of Help are here to help where possible and address the stigma that poverty has on children.
