The Guild is extremely proud of the contribution that it makes to the people of Bolton and the local economy.
Our social value contribution to the town, since 1905, is inestimable but since 2024, we have started to attempt to measure it in order to demonstrate just how important this is.
In 2024 we made a total social value contribution to the Borough of Bolton in excess of £1,000,000.
A copy of our very first Social Value Report is attached. It is, we believe, accurate to plus or minus 10%. In 2024 we set up new management and reporting systems and they will now allow us to measure our social value much more accurately.
Whilst money can be measured very easily, the value of pastoral care and support cannot be; but we know that many people get a great deal of support and comfort from it. Pastoral care and support helps to reduce social isolation and loneliness and this helps to improve people’s general health and wellbeing.
The Guild is more than willing to share its ‘social value journey’ with any other local charity seeking to do likewise.
